Graduate Students Ebrahim Ahmadisharaf and Nowfel Mahmud Bhuyian receive awards at the TTU College of Engineering's Eminence Awards. Ebrahim is awarded Best Paper Award (PhD) and Outstanding Gradaute Research Award. Nowfel is awarded Best Paper Award (MS). Ebrahim Ahmadisharaf is also awarded Best Poster (Civil & Environmental Engineering) at the 2014 TTU Student Research Day event.

Dr. Kalyanapu's is awarded the 2014 Sigma Xi's Research Award for the research paper titled "Toward a methodology to investigate the downstream flood hazards on the American River due to changes in probable maximum flood due to effects of artificial reservoir size and land-use/land-cover patterns” which appeared in the journal Earth Interactions.

February 14, 2014

Dr. Kalyanapu's research paper titled "Annualized risk analysis approach to recommend appropriate level of flood control: Application to Swannanoa River Watershed." is accepted for publication in Journal of Flood Risk Management.
