This July, we returned to our Kentucky WRP site to download the data from HOBO loggers. We also installed our custom-built low-cost real-time logger at this site. We plan on using this sensor to remotely monitor floods and high flows. During our visit, we experienced bankfull flows due to a heavy downpour the day before our trip. Our research team developed low-cost realtime water level sensors using commodity IoT devices. We recently installed our sensors along the rivers in the Falling Water River watershed. The video below documents the installation. This project is funded by USGS 104B through the UT Water Resources Research Center.

March 27, 2019

Our research team installed the water level loggers in our study site in Kentucky, in March 2019. The objective of this trip was to install HOBO loggers at selected locations and monitor the water levels in the stream and the bankfull flows in the wetland.
